Gok State Legislative Assembly has relived speaker Veronica Umjuma Phillip Dak from her position.
According to a document Good News Radio saw, Assembly members, unanimously passed a decision for the removal of the speaker during their ordinary session on July 30.
The document says 16 members discussed a motion for the removal of speaker of Gok State Legislative Assembly’
In telephone interview with Good News Radio on Wednesday, Acting Speaker Riak Zachariah Mathen who signed the document accused the speaker of posting false information on the social media using the name of the Assembly.
Veronica says her removal was politically motivated, claiming it was unlawful.

He clarifies that the governor has no right to remove and appoint a member of legislative assembly.
Gok state assembly earlier this year passed a vote of no confidence and impeached Minister of Local Government, two commissioners and one MP.
However, the governor was reluctant to effect the decision of the assembly.
