The Archbishop of Central Equatoria province of the Episcopal Church appreciates the role of Churches in Yei River State for their efforts in peace building.
Paul Pitya Benjamin Yugusuk shares the role of the ECS Bishops in Central Equatoria in regards to the Revitalized Peace Agreement implementation
The Archbishop explains that they have visited some of the cantonment areas and also met President Salva Kiir Mayardit to urge him to dialogue with the non-signatories to the agreement for inclusivity.
‘We have learned a lot of your roles in peace building in this state, and we want to commend you for that. We would like to share with you the role of the ECSS bishops. We have visited some of the containment areas and also visited the president to urge him to dialogue with the other parties who have not signed the agreement.’
The ECSS prelate cites a lot of consultations done between the government and opposition leaders have express delight for the two sites accepting to dialogue.
The Archbishop mentions August as the commencement of mediation meeting in Addis Ababa with both the government and NASS delegation.
