Wau State Minister of Information, Culture, Youth & Sports encourages youth to use pen as the weapon for war, but not guns.
Speaking during a workshop, Rose Mary Mariano regrets that if South Sudanese were educated, this suffering would have not happened in the nation.
‘We need unity. We want us to have teamwork. There are challenges which need us to address. The first change is our students can sit for their senior four. After passing senior four, they have to get their certificates from Juba”, says Mariano.
The Minister points out that youth are strong people who can end the war and create peaceful society.
The only sickness South Sudan is suffering from is tribalism, she adds.
‘As SPLM and youth, we want to try how we can help our students. We can do something so that they fill the forms in Yei and the government can take the certificates from Juba to Yei’, he adds.
One of the participants in the workshop, Jubai Baptist, encourages everybody to take education serious.
The speakers made the remarks during a workshop organized by Hope Society Organization for youth under the theme ‘Art for Peace’.
