The governor of the Nuba Mountains pledges to support women in the region to be recognized in the party.
Al-Nur Saleh Al Badil encourages women to stand up for their rights as his government stands with them, Voice of Peace Radio reports.
‘Women are oppressed and no one cares but you have to come out and fight for your rights to make others recognise your role’, he encourages.
‘There is no freedom without suffering; women should participate in all institutions of the government, but how to participate if you are not active’, the governor questions.
‘The freedom is through action and play a role in every sector within the government system’, he adds.
Saleh calls on head of women Association to organize and enlighten women on capacity building in the future.
He advises females to be careful with the current situation in the Sudan since peace is not yet certain.
‘You have women who are leaders here within the area and we vow to you that we will offer scholarships and by your efforts you will earn opportunities’, he notes.
The governor was speaking to women in women’s forum on political ideas on Monday in Kauda in Nuba Mountains.
