Tonj State Minister of Information confirms to Don Bosco Radio that they have successfully ended independence celebrations peacefully.
William Wol Mayom appreciates citizens for remembering martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country’s freedom.
He notes that the government did not receive any strange report during and after the celebration.
The minister appeals to people who were affected by the communal conflict in former Tonj South County to remain calm as the government finds the root cause of the disagreement.
He stresses that the life of the civilians is priority of the state government.
‘The government will soon call for humanitarian assistance and address the issues from its root causes to resolve all conflicts’ the minister explains.
The official was speaking to Don Bosco Radio on Monday in Tonj.
