The Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in South Sudan is urging citizens to be careful of the Ebola Virus because it does not differentiate.
Alain Noudohou calls for precautionary measures have to be undertaken to prevent the disease from entering into the country, Radio Easter reports.
He appeals to leaders to take the lead in sensitizing communities to prevent themselves from unnecessary contacts.
‘Ebola does not recognize any particular borders or person; if it enters here it will shatter the effort made by emergency preparedness team and the partners’ Noudohou adds.
Noudohou commends the efforts of Yei River State in standing firm in preventing the spread of Ebola in South Sudan.
There is no case of Ebola currently in South Sudan, but Yei River State is at high risk because it borders the Democratic Republic of Congo.
