Catholic church denounces the prevalence of Gender-Based Violence or GBV and other forms of human right abuses in South Sudan.

The church acknowledges that GBV is a reality and its impact has created countless crises.

This statement came during five-day workshop conducted by pastoral agents in partnership with the Justice and Peace, J&P office of the International Union of Superior Generals, or UISG on July 8th to 14th 2019 in Juba.

The faith based groups commend and recognize all the efforts accorded by various institutions and well-wishers on awareness programs.

The participants recommend GBV is included in all Catholic schools education curriculum at grass-root levels to restore the impaired culture and dignity of South Sudanese.
