The government of Yei River State has planned to celebrate the eighth anniversary of independence of South Sudan on Thursday.
Speaking to Radio Easter, Minister of Information Mawa a Moses confirms that the celebration will take place on July 11th instead of 9th at Yei Freedom square.
He clarifies that 9th July will be a national public holiday for all citizens and July 11 will only apply to Yei River State.
‘As people of Yei we will celebrate the Independence Day on Thursday July 11th, at the freedom square and July 9th still remains national public holidays for all citizens’, he explains.
The Information Minister urges people of Yei and South Sudan at large to embrace peace and live in unity.
Mawa spoke to Radio Easter in an exclusive interview on Monday in Yei.
