President of the Republic of South Sudan applauds opposition leaders for their commitment to the implementation of the Revitalised Peace Agreement.
Salva Kiir Mayardit hopes that the recent extension of the pre-transitional period will pave way for a smooth transition.
‘I am happy to share with you, that the National Pre-Transitional Committee or NPTC is doing its best to effect the implementation of the R-ARCSS’, he adds.
President Kiir says the multiple conflicts that occurred in the past years have interrupted governance system and now the country is suffering as a consequence.
He describes the revitalised deal as a chance for the government to revive itself ahead of the 2021 elections.
The president believes that by implementing the peace agreement, the economy will thrive and the country will develop.
‘The security forces are under directives to ensure safety of all citizens wherever they might be celebrating’, he explains.
The president was giving the nation address on Tuesday on the eight anniversary of South Sudan Independence in Juba.
