Kiir and Machar should sort out states’ differences face to face, says official

The top principals of the Revitalized Peace Agreement should meet face to face to resolve the issues on the number of states and boundaries commission, says Deputy Chair of National Pre-Transitional Committee.
 
Gabriel Changson Chang told media that president Salva Kiir Mayardit and Dr Riak Machar Teny should meet again face to face and sort the political solutions on the states, either to be referred to the referendum.
 
Things will move forward if there is political will, he adds.
 
The meeting between the two leaders in the agreement will resolve issues of boundaries and the number of states and build trust between Kiir and Riak, says UNMISS Chief David Shearer.
 
He says there is an urgent need to work on the remaining four months of the pre- transitional period.
 
‘We do not want to see another extension of the transitional period, we have to work collectively’, Shearer stresses.
 
The officials were speaking on Monday after the NPTC meeting with the AU, Troika and EU headed by UNMISS.
 
The officials discussed on challenges, issues of establishing the cantonment sites and unifying the forces that lacks fund.
