The Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangement Mechanism Verification and Monitoring or CTSAMVM welcomes the work of security mechanisms as a move to peaceful South Sudan.
In a press statement, Desta Abiche Ageno Chairman says CTSAMVM hold throughout most of the country with no reported incidents of violence among the parties.
There are tensions in several areas, but the indications are that these are a result of inter-communal differences, he adds.
CTSAMVM has observed numerous logistical challenges to support provision of food, water, medicines and shelters for the already cantoned and those who to be cantoned, the statement reads.
The chairman urges the parties and the National Pre-transitional Committee or NPTC to urgently address those issues.
CTSAMVM will continue to monitor and verify cantonment sites, and the impact they have on local communities including women and children.
Gen. Desta warns that without cantonment, the Peace Agreement cannot be implemented, part of the statement says
