Ager-Gum Primary School resumed operation on Monday after the Western Lakes State government closed it down following pupils violently demonstrated.

The demonstration came after the state education authorities transferred their teachers to Malek Primary School.

The school was then closed down for almost one month, after students threw stones and broke the windows of the state Ministry of Education.

Education Director-General in Western Lakes State Dawud Abdulla Mabok while announcing the opening, appeals to pupils to cooperate with their teachers.

Chairperson for Parents-Teachers Association Solomy Anyiel Achiek apologized to government on behalf of the pupils.

Pupil, John Makol Dut, regrets their bad actions and promises not to engage in such acts in the future because they are aware of the consequences.

Ager- Gum Primary School has 2,366 pupils and 63 teachers.
