Tonj State Assembly passes Disarmament and Small Arms Bill

The Legislative Assembly of Tonj in its extraordinary sitting over the weekend passed a Disarmament Bill to control small arms in the state.
 
Speaker Mario Malook Lual said the aim of the debate was to pass the bill of disarmament and small arms control.
 
Dominic Deng Mayom, Minister of Gender and Child Welfare says people of Tonj are determined to lay the foundation for united, peaceful and prosperous society.
 
The state assembly enacted the disarmament and small arms control 2019 bill, because it is conscious of the need to strengthen and protect lives and property of civilians, he reads.
 
Machok Deng Arol says the ad hoc committee went through the bill and that it is well written with all elements.
 
He appreciates the writers for the nice research the have made to ease the work.
