The assistant commissioner of commission of Refugee affairs in Yei River State is urging the citizens to show solidarity to refugees.
Julius Taban Phillip explains that World Refugee Day is to honor refugees and pay tribute to their courage, resilience, and raise awareness on the struggle faced by refugees in the world.
He mentions the rights of refugees to protection in South Sudan, need to be observed until when peace returns to their home country.
The assistant commissioner urges citizens to remember their brothers and sisters who fled to neighboring countries of Uganda, Congo, Kenya, Sudan and Ethiopia.
He adds that South Sudan hosts many refugees from other countries and they are camped in Yei, Gorom, Yambio, Jamjam and Maben.
The state Commission of Refugee Affairs registered about 10,366 refugees from Nuba Mountains and Congo.
