A Medical Director in Tonj civil hospital Dr. Mathiang Agany reveals that cases of malaria infection have increased due to the rainy season and the presence of too much mosquitoes.
Dr. Mathiang says most of the patients are children below ten years and elderly people, some die before reaching the hospital, Don Bosco Reports.
The doctor appeals to the community members to seek treatment immediately before a person’s health worsens.
Dr. Agany discourages the use of traditional herbs for treating malaria since the accepted anti malarial drugs is available in health Units.
He encourages pregnant mothers to attend antenatal care and deliver in a health facility.
Mary Adhieu, a patient whose child is admitted accepted the anti malarial drugs given to her child instead of traditional treatments.
She calls upon mothers to hurry to the health centres to save their children from malaria.
