The new governor of Western Lakes State promises to improve the security situation in the state.
 
Mahmud Solomon Deer while addressing the rally at Rumbek Freedom Square reveals that his main objective is to restore security to allow citizens carry out their activities normally without fear, Good News Radio reports.
 
He appeals to the citizens of Rumbek to end revenge killing as it ruins the name of the state and that soon they will make security and development strategies.
 
Solomon urges the people of western lakes to remain one as brothers and sisters and work for the betterment of the state.
 
Governor Mahmud Solomon was appointed on May 20, 2019 by President Salva Kiir Mayardit, replacing Brigadier General John Deng Mamer.
 
He was accompanied by senior government officials from Juba including the head of the Council of States, James Magok Ater.
