Impact Health Organization or IHO on Wednesday inaugurated Youth Friendly Health Centre at Torit State Hospital to cater for the health needs of adolescents.

The organization’s official Sentongo David says the clinic will provide sexual reproductive health and counseling services among others to the adolescents, radio Emmanuel reports.

He adds that teenagers are given little health services yet they are the risk group.

The official says the clinic will increase teenagers’ access to special health services.

The Hospital Administrator Francis Iwa Andruga says the clinic has been in place since before its inauguration, but teenagers’ turn up is low.

He believes the inauguration will create more awareness.

He urges parents not to stop their children from accessing the clinic in order to reduce cases of teenage pregnancies.

Manuela Marko, a student of Torit Day Secondary School, complains that having the clinic in the State Hospital discourages teenagers from accessing those services.

According to IHO, the center will also provide other services such as tackling gender-based violence and drug addiction.

It will work jointly with other related departments in the Hospital.
