UN calls for free movement of peacekeepers in South Sudan

The Acting Commander of UN Peacekeepers in Wau State urges the government to cooperate and allow them free movement to fulfill their mission in South Sudan.
 
Sector Commander Magne Malmo urges the government not to hinder their movement but support them in their mission.
 
Malmo says UN is committed to stand with the government to achieve the mandate.
 
He calls for peace in the state for IDPs to return to their homes.
 
Wau State Police representative Ciran Machar Chol says the government is working hard to ensure the rights of people and property are protected.
 
The officials were speaking during the commemoration of the UN Peacekeepers day in UNMISS head office Wau branch under the theme ‘protect civilians and protect peace’.
