The Joint Defence Board or JDB has received an amount of two million US dollars from the National Pre-Transitional Committee or NPTC for the establishment and work on the implementation of the revitalised peace agreement and the cantonment sites.
Chairman of JDB Lt. General Gabriel Jok Riak, says they received the money last week from the NPTC and it is been allocated to various security mechanism bodies in percentages.
General Juk says the coming days the team is expected to move to the cantonment site to Panyume as the first phase and the second phase will be the implementation of the agreement accordingly.
Joint Defence Board Deputy Chair Lt. General James Koang Chol, says that the amount is an opportunity for the mechanism to start its work as they were working without any support past period.
The Joint Military Ceasefire Commission or JMCC and the Joint Transitional Security Committee or JTSC will be heading to the cantonment site soon, he adds.
The officials spoke on Monday to the media in military hedquaters Bilpham after receiving their nine vehicles that will be distributed to each security mechanism team in the agreement targeting the various units.
