South Sudan Football Association in collaboration with Cross Cultures and NIRAS is training about 60 football coaches in Torit.
The course is under the Open Fun Football Schools project, intended to harmonize youth in the state through sports.
Coordinator of Cross Cultures for Juba, Nasera Victoria acknowledges the commitment of the youth in sports in the state and that her organization is striving to support such talents.
She encourages gender equality in football in order to improve the country’s performance at international level.
Nasera hopes for the creation of national football team for girls in future.
Eastern Equatoria NIRAS deputy team leader, Andrew Yunda Stephen, reaffirms that the project will disapprove cultures that sideline girls from participating in some sport activities.
Director for Culture in Torit Justine Thomson Ondogo says the government has always been supportive to girls especially in the area of sports in the state.
According to SSFA, the coaches will later be training children under the Open Fun Football Schools project.
