The Inter-Governmental Authority on Development or IGAD praises the Sudanese Political stakeholders for the progress made in the negotiations to ensure a political transition in the Sudan.
In a statement to CRN, IGAD says it continues to follow closely the developments in the Sudan.
It hopes that the Sudanese political stakeholders will continue to negotiate in good faith and a spirit of compromise to respond to the needs and aspirations of the Sudanese people.
The IGAD Council of Ministers has reaffirmed continued engagement of its member states on the situation in the Sudan in a coordinated manner, within the African Union framework.
It supports the statement issued by the Chairperson of the African Union Commission on 15th May 2019.
IGAD promises to continue helping AU in moving the political transition process forward.
