Torit Bishop sets for first visit to Eastern Deanery

Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Torit on is set to visit Eastern Deanery of the in Kapoeta for the first time after his consecration in March.
 
Bishop Stephen Ameyu Martin says the two-week visit is to acquaint himself with the deaneries in the diocese, Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
He says the first visit is a role of the bishop to care for the souls.
 
Bishop Ameyu says the visit will help strengthen the faith and moral lives of Christians in the Eastern Deanery
 
He adds that it is a normal visit a bishop does at least yearly in the diocese.
 
The Bishop accompanied by the Diocesan Vocational Director Fr Arkangelo Lokoro, Secretary-General Fr Joseph Logura among others will visit all parishes in Kapoeta.
 
Bishop Ameyu decries the lack of priests in the diocese that led to evacuation of some parishes like Nyangacor in Kapoeta.
 
The catholic Bishop encourages Missionaries from across the world to come and help fill the gap in his diocese.
 
He was speaking to Radio Emmanuel on Thursday.
