Youth training on unarmed civilian’s protection commence in Rumbek

Nonviolent Peace Force Organization is hosting a two-day youth training on unarmed civilian’s protection.
 
The training was meant to strengthen youth of different counties of Rumbek with skills on how to protect civilians in different forms of violence in the state.
 
Speaking during the opening remarks Nonviolent Peace Force Officer For Youth Engagement Coordination Kengen Elijah says the reasons was to understand the roles and responsibilities of civilian’s protection and to apply them in daily lives.
 
He adds that they are the protectors of unarmed civilians and there is a need to know more about their strategies.
 
Elijah points out that violent is not only through physical fights but can also be inform of words spoken to someone and will cause problems.
 
He urges the participants to abstain from involving in any form of violent and carrying weapons with them.
 
The training brought together 30 participants from three counties of Rumbek.
