The Catholic Diocese of Torit for the first time after six years conducted annual diocesan general meeting in the presence of the long awaited Bishop.
The four-day meeting that draws priest and catechists from Eastern, Central and Western Deaneries is a platform to discuss experiences, achievements, challenges and a way forward in different parishes.
Bishop Stephen Ameyu Martin Mulla says the meeting will review the work of pastoral and social wing to address existing challenges facing the diocese.
His Lordship Ameyu says, it is time for priests to learn from their failures and remain vigilant in serving the people of God.
Bishop Ameyu acknowledges that the Diocese encounters a lot of challenges including economic crisis and other issues facing the local communities.
His Lordship regrets that the slow implementation of the revitalized agreement does not only affect the government but also the church.
He tasks priests and catechists to make difference by committing to pastoral work to overcome major challenges.
