Wau State will celebrate Nursing and Midwifery International Day on Wednesday under the team: ‘Midwives defenders of women rights and nurses a voice to lead health for all’.
The day is always celebrated to create awareness to improve health services to the community.
A midwife, Dora Ireneo Kunda, encourages the people to support midwives and nurses in order to help improve their services.
Another nurse, Cecilia Raphael, discourages people’s negative views on young boys joining nursing and midwifery courses.
She appeals to students to join science section and encourages both boys and girls to take midwifery and nursing as a great career choice.
International Day for Nursing is celebrated on May 12 and while midwifery is on May 5.
