Body of veteran journalist Alfred Taban arrives in Juba

The Body of the former Editor in Chief of Juba Monitor, Alfred Taban has arrived in Juba this afternoon from Kampala, Uganda.
 
The late was received by several government officials, church leaders, journalists, family and friends.
 
Catholic Radio Network’s editor in chief Alfred Soka Porfilio says hundreds of people gathered at All Saints Cathedral in Juba for the requiem mass.
 
Alfred Taban was an MP representing Kajo-Keji County in Yei River State in the National Legislative Assembly.
 
He was also the head of Information and Communications in the National Dialogue.
 
The veteran journalist was a former broadcast journalist and BBC correspondent in Khartoum. 
 
He was the founder of Khartoum Monitor, the voice of the voiceless, in Sudan 
 
Taban was also the former Chairman of the Association for Media Development in South Sudan or AMDISS and was a strong advocate for the freedom of press in the country.
