A 35-year-old woman who went for intestine operation in Mapuordit Hospital two weeks ago was on Friday rushed into the theatre in Rumbek State Hospital for second operation after forceps was discovered left in her abdomen.

Forceps is a surgical instrument use in operation to stop blood coming out from the arteries to avoid further bleeding.

In an interview with Good News Radio, Rumbek State Hospital medical director Dr. Mabior Maker Rengu confirms the second surgery was successful and the patient is on recovery.

The patient says she is no longer experiencing internal pain but only the pain from the wound of the operation, but confident that it will heal soon.

Doctor Maker says such cases are normal in theatres as some surgical objects may be hidden by tissues.
