The Catholic Bishop of Tombura-Yambio reveals that Italian Catholic Bishops’ Conference in Rome donated fund for building maternity block in Tombura.
Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala broke the news on Easter Monday as people from different parts of the country assembled at Tambura State Freedom Square to ride for peace.
He adds that when you offer quality health services for women you intend to support lives of all human beings because women are the centre of life of any community as they always give birth.
The Bishop mentions that the construction processes will start in a week time and all materials including iron sheets, cement, timbers and bricks will be bought to Tambura State.
He introduced one Italian engineer and another engineer from the community members who will lead the process, but all laborers will be from Tambura State.
The bishop says soon the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio and the government of Tambura will write a thanksgiving note to the Italian Catholic Bishops’ Conference for funding the program.
The maternity ward in Tambura State is now the second after St Teresa Nzara Hospital under the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio offering effective health services to the people in Western Equatoria region.
Governor Patrick Zamoi on Easter Monday officially launched the construction after Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala blessed it.
