Rwandan peacekeepers in UN Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS in Juba on Thursday remembered genocide twenty-five years ago and give hope to South Sudanese.
Celine Kalingirwa said Rwanda’s theme of ‘Remembering, uniting and renewing’ should really help people of South Sudan and give them a picture of what can come out of such a time.
Be united as people of South Sudan to be able to build the young country for the future, she said.
Dr Kalingirwa talked during a big procession called ‘a walk to remember’ to commemorate 25 years after the genocide against the Tutsi.
Torit Emeritus Bishop Paride Taban said Rwanda that through the bloods seeds of good things, unity, reconciliation and forgiveness were able to germinate and that country became a good example to the rest of the world.
He said the seeds of the blood of Rwanda produced fruit, which now is an example for Sudan and South Sudan.
The Bishop praised Rwanda for the progress it has made since its dark history.
