The government should publicly report details on Bentiu sexual and gender-based violence, says Chief of Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission or RJMEC.
General Augostino Njoroge says RJMEC is dismayed because it is not given the full report of the government’s investigation and action on Luri’s incident that occurred in 2018.
Martin Elia Lomuro, Cabinet Affairs Minister says Bentiu investigation’s report has been forwarded to RJMEC.
He adds that the case is been talked all over social media and the UN does not look like finding facts.
A citizen comments on the case that the rape has affected numerous individuals and he prefers that such cases should be made public.
An anonymous woman calls on the government to identify the rapists so that they are held accountable.
She wonders why the government did not make Bentiu report public and bring the culprits to book.
According to MSF or Doctors without Borders, approximately 150 women and girls reportedly sought medical treatment after having been raped or sexually assaulted in more than ten-day period towards the end of November 2018.
Those women were sexually assaulted while they were walking along roads near Nhialdhiu and Guit on their way to Bentiu.
