The Revenue Authority Commissioner of Torit State has Wednesday passed an order banning illegal extraction of forest products in the state.
Charles Onen Lokwaruk says the order is mandated by the state government and is in line with the Transitional Constitution of South Sudan, 2011.
He explains that there is need to monitor and protect the state forest resources from devastations.
The Commissioner notes that the State Revenue loses millions of pounds monthly due to unauthorized logging.
Onen accuses some individuals for illegally issuing out financial Form -15 to loggers, and warns them to desist or else face the law.
He says currently only two companies are legalized to carryout logging in the state.
The Revenue Authority Commissioner calls on every citizen to protect state resources.
