South Sudan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese Ambassador on Wednesday signed agreements for building a new Jur River Bridge in Wau and modernization of Juba Teaching Hospital.
Under the agreements, the Chinese will construct a new bridge and a 1.48 kilometer road linking the bridge to Wau town.
The second agreement is for the start of phase two of the China- aided project for expansion and modernization of Juba Teaching Hospital which is under renovation by Chinese firms.
Baak Valentino Wol, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs appreciated the Chinese government for its support to South Sudan.
Chinese ambassador to South Sudan Hua Ning says the value of the projects is yet to be determined upon completion of feasibility studies.
He says the projects will be financed through a grant from the Chinese government.
Phase one of the 33 million dollars Chinese health aid for modernization of Juba Teaching Hospital and Kiir Mayardit Women’s Hospital in Rumbek is nearing completion.
South Sudan announced last week that it will provide 30,000 barrels of oil per day to the Export-Import Bank of China to help fund road infrastructure projects in the country.
