Governor encourages chiefs to provide justice for all

Torit State Governor is calling on local chiefs and traditional leaders to provide justice to all citizens.
 
Tobiolo Alberio Oromo says all citizens are equal before the law.
 
‘Application of justice is very difficult for some of the chiefs who have no fear of the law and God, justice is justice and it is for every human being, it is for every human being either being a man or woman or a child justice must prevail that is why you are taught about human right, every human being a woman or a man, elder of disable have right to justice’, he emphasizes.
 
Torit State Governor tells chiefs to stop the practice of mob justice which he beliefs is common among Torit communities.
 
Alberio asks chiefs to be good exemplary in showing justice for peace and development to prevail in the country.
 
‘How can this country of ours develop, it will develop if you clear the ground very well by bringing people at the ground in a good way, in a way of justice then up here there will be justice because the majority of people are there with you and a lot of crimes are committed on the ground, mob justice is still existing to our people there and this is what is interfering the work of chiefs if someone has a problem or commits a crime you will find about ten youth will come and beat to death that is he/she is a witch and a mistaken without being to law with this what are you going to do should this continue we must stop this mob justice, we must stop’, he questions the traditional leaders.
 
Governor Alberio adds that most South Sudanese are traumatized due the long conflict in the country.
 
He reveals government’s plan of taking arms from the hands of civilians as a way of bringing justice and peace.
