The Director of Public Health in Rumbek municipality acknowledges their failure to collect garbage in the town.

Speaking to Radio Good News, Gabriel Maker Aru says they spent three weeks without cleaning  the town due to break down of their car for garbage collection.

He adds that they have started collecting garbage in the town for three days in regards to traders’ complaint of paying money and no collection of rubbish in the market.

Maker elaborates that the presence of wheelbarrow boys in the market pushing items for sell has made it difficult for the car to move to collect litter and contributes to accumulation places.

He warns the boys to avoid pushing wheelbarrows on the road, saying it is a violation and punishable.

One of the wheelbarrow pushers, Manyang Mabor articulates that customers do not reach them if they can relocate selling from the main market.

The public health director made remarks to Good News Radio in his office on Monday.
