The Parish Priest of St. Luke in Yangiri in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio is urging parents to support their children and take education as the first priority for their children because they are the Future Leaders.

Fr. Luke Yugue says some parents only take children to school without paying their fees.

He adds that the schools in Yangiri are facing challenges because some parents do not pay fees, making it difficult for the school to run without paying teachers.

The parish priest says the four primary-schools in Yangiri are doing well but operating under trees due to lack of fund to raise shelter for the pupils.

He calls on the well-wishers to support them because if it starts raining the children will not be able to attend classes.

Fr Yugue adds that the community members are trying their level best to put some grass touched house to help during rainy season but still need more support

The priest was speaking to Anisa Radio on Wednesday in Yambio.
