Several choirs from different parishes under the Catholic Diocese of Torit arrived Torit town in preparation for the consecration of new Bishop-elect Monsignor Stephen Ameyu Martin Mulla on Sunday.
Thousands of faithful from different parts of the world are expected to attend the consecration of the new Bishop-elect at St Peter and Paul Cathedral in Torit.
The bishop elect was appointed in early January by the holy sea to cover the gap that went empty since the death of Late Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek on the 13th march 2013
According to the chairperson organizing committee for the consecration William Okot Toby, so far choir members from three different parishes have arrived and more are expected to be on ground before Sunday.
One of the choir members, Okwera Daniel Otirjanjaro from St Mathew Parish Ikwoto says the Christian communities in the state have been longing for the new Bishop Elect to be consecrated since the death of the late Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek.
He believes dedicating the new Bishop in to the Diocese will foster developments in the church.
Another choir member, Bode Emmanuel Malish from St Francis of Assisi Parish in Nimule expects the new Bishop to coordinate and jointly work with priests of all the parishes in the diocese.
He adds that more priests needs to be trained.
Ikinney Bianga, a choir from St Theresa Parish in Isoke encourages the new Bishop-elect to support priests in the Diocese through education in order to enhance their capabilities.
