Tombura-Yambio Diocese forms committee for Easter celebrations

The Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio formed a High-Level Diocesan Committee that is tasked to organize and make preparations for Easter celebrations under the theme: ‘Peace and development’.
 
Vicar General Fr Thomas Bagbiowia, of the Catholic Diocese told Anisa Radio the Committee comprises of fifteen members to make arrangements for the celebrations in Mupoi.
 
He explains that Fr. John Ngbapia, Director of Catholic Organization for Peace and Development or CODEP deputized by Brother Fred were elected to head the committee.
 
Fr. Bagbiowia declares that this year’s Easter celebrations in Mupoi is jointly being organized by Tombura-Yambio Diocese and the government of Tombura State.
 
He says the celebration will bring government officials and citizens from the four states of Amadi, Maridi, Gbudue and Tombura to Mupoi Parish.
 
Simon Mikanipare, Tombura-Yambio Diocesan Coordinator says they visited some Embassies and International Organizations in Juba and invited them to participate in the ceremony.
 
While in Mupoi, the government officials from the four states of Western Equatoria together with the administration of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio will conduct round table discussion on peace and development in the region.
 
The celebrations are expected to include bicycle ride on Easter Monday by all citizens, government and Church personnel in Tombura town.
