The Nuba Mountains’ Secretariat of Agriculture in partnership with a local organization concluded a five-day workshop in Kauda, Heiban County.
Speaking to Voice of Peace Radio on Friday Secretary for Agriculture, Afsa Idriss, says the workshop under the theme: ‘Agriculture is the foundation of economic development’ targets farmers and local beneficiaries in the region.
She adds different county agriculture directors attended the workshop that started on Monday.
Ms Idriss urges the participants to mobilize community members to involve in agriculture activities to end food crisis and hunger in the region.
Nuba Mountains’ Governor El-Nur Saleh said farming is among priorities of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement North-SPLM-N.
He urges Nuba people to continue farming as they are agriculturalists.
The workshop organized by Nuba Mountains Secretariat of Agriculture in partnership with a local NGO drew together 95 participants from 150 different parts of the region.
