The Member of Parliament in Gok State Legislative Assembly William Manyuon Wantok lost his seat after Governor Madhang Majok appointed him commissioner on Monday
In a press release, it says Gok State transitional constitution does allow a member of parliament to be in executive while serving as a legislator.
Speaker of Gok State Assembly Veronica Umjima Philip confirms that a member of parliament representing Anyaar-nguan Constituency has lost his membership in the House.
Speaker Veronica says the position will be filled by the people of Anyaar-nguan Constituency as soon as possible.
The speaker warns MPs of losing their membership in the assembly if they do not comply with Gok State Transitional Constitution 2016.
