The Chief of Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring and Verification Mechanism or CTSAMVM says there are no major incidents reported in the past two months from hot spot areas including Wau State.

Major General Desta Abiche Ageno mentions that a common trust and confidence building meetings between the forces in Wau have been facilitated by the mechanism.

Ageno believes their efforts are now yielding dividends though with slight breach of trust from Bill Payam in Unity State.

The chief adds that, CTSAMVM still faces denial of access from SSPDF and the SPLA-IO and movement of its staff are limited in various locations in the country,

SPLA-IO Deputy Military Spokesman says they are aware about the situation in Bentiu but CTSAMVM is violating the agreement by not moving with the Monitoring Verification Technical team that is supposed to be deployed.

Colonel Lam Paul Gabriel told CRN that CTSAMVM have been reconstituted mainly to make them move with the national members from the parties to the areas but they are moving with their former team.

The SSPDF Deputy Military Spokesman, Colonel Santo Domic, in his written statement says CTSAMVM must include national monitors as part of their Monitor Mechanism and they didn’t show any commitment to accept and incorporate national personnel.

He adds there is no way for CTSAMVM to operate alone since it has violated some articles of the agreement.
