Thousands of people gathered at Kauda Town of Heiban County in Nuba Mountains demonstrating against the Sudan’s ruling National Congress Party, NCP leader.

The protesters moved from Kauda Freedom Square through market to SPLM-North office chanting slogans down…down Al Bashir, calling for change in Khartoum government.

Head of Civil Society Organizations, Khandi Khalil, says they were acting in solidarity with nationwide protests calling for President Al Bashir to step down from power.

He adds that they condemn the ongoing violence, killing and detention of peaceful demonstrators across the Sudan over the past four weeks.

Nuba Mountains’ Governor, Alnur Saleh, said Al-Bashir’s regime did not provide any support to the Sudanese people apart from killing the innocent civilians.

Peaceful protest was one of the main ways to bring regime down, he stresses.

Some participants in the protest told Voice of Peace Radio that they want Al-Bashir to step down because he has been in power for 30 years killing Sudanese people.
