The National Minister of Information directs his counterparts not to register media houses at the state level.

Michael Makuei clarifies that all media houses and communication operators including MTN, Vivacell and Zain are registered and licensed by the national government.

The minister tells the state ministers to avoid over taxing media houses and interfere with their work and ask anything, but raise complaints to the national ministry.

He says any medium outlet must show its licence to the state authorities.

Makuei discloses that by 2020 SSBC will reach state of the country.

Media is regulated to control, guide and promote media house to get various information from different sources, explains Sapana Abuyi Director-General of Media Authority.

The officials were addressing a one-day national Media Policy Symposium under the theme: ‘Strengthening media in South Sudan towards professional, vibrant and free media for all’.
