The African Energy Chamber, encouraged by the progress in South Sudan’s oil after the agreement, says power investment is a driving path to lasting peace
 
The success of the South Sudan oil and power 2018 conference indicates young country’s increased attractiveness for African and international investors.
 
It also works to ensure a stable peace and doubled efforts to increase production and drill more wells.
 
The conference that attracted 750 participants of the oil sector from Africa, Europe, North America and the Middle East is a step in the right direction.
 
The African Energy Chamber say it is also encouraged by the ministerial delegations from many countries like Equatorial Guinea, Sudan, Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Russia, Uganda among others. 
 
The presence of several international oil companies in Juba this week is very cheering and shows that South Sudan is doing its best to restore the trust of the international investment community It adds.
 
The Chamber calls on the government to continue its efforts in encouraging an enabling environment, promoting local content and prioritizing the role of women in the oil sector.
