R-JMEC encourages journalists to accurately report pre-transitional progress

The Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission or R-JMEC is urging South Sudanese journalists to enlighten the people on the resigned peace deal.
 
Ambassador Augostino Njoroge told journalists in Juba in a workshop that the media outlets have an important role to help South Sudanese understand the Agreement through factual reporting.
 
It is the responsibility of journalists to keep citizens informed to enable them unite and together push for the implementation of the agreement, he emphasizes.
 
Ambassador urges the media to help in the ratification of the agreement by the parties and stakeholders of their representative to their institutions and their establishment.
 
The Chair reminds the journalists that JMEC recommended revival of the 2015 agreement to include people who were left out.
 
UNESCO and Community Empowerment for Progress Organization organized the two-day workshop under the theme: ‘Towards effective and constructive reporting of the R-ARCSS’.
