UN child rights experts urge governments around the world to be united in ensuring priority attention to realize the rights of the child.

The call was on Tuesday marking Universal Children’s Day and the 29th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

They call for the acceleration of efforts for implementing the Convention.

The best way to leave no child behind is to put children first to ensure that no kid grows up in a world of fear, violence and hopelessness,  the experts say.

They want governments, civil society organizations and individuals to urgently reinforce efforts to always put children above politics to safeguard their rights and create a better world for all.

The UN experts remind all global governments of their obligations as people head to 2019 and the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

They call on all states to ratify and effectively implement the Convention as children deserve nothing less.
