Apuk community violence leaves 10 dead and seven others injured

At least ten people were killed and seven others wounded in Apuk Padoc community of Tonj State when violence erupted on November 15.
 
According to Don Bosco Radio, the communal conflict occurred after a youth impregnated a girl. He was attacked by the relatives of the lady.
 
The fighting began with sticks and stones, but later later turned bloody with the use of guns claiming the lives of ten people.
 
Tonj State Minister of Information James Ayiek Bath confirms the ugly incident to Don Bosco radio.
 
Ayiek says the security situation is now calm and the forces on the ground are working hard to arrest the perpetrators.
 
The minister sends his condolences to the families of the deceased and advises the pubic to stay away from the culture of violence in seeking justice.
 
Ayiek adds that the state Governor Anthony Bol Madut intervened by rushing to the scene with forces and managed to bring the situation under control.
 
Since they were fighting in a remote area, he explains, the wounded persons will not reach Tonj Civil Hospital, but will be taken to Warrap town for medical attention.
 
The official made the comments on Tuesday during an exclusive interview with Don Bosco Radio in Tonj.
