ITU completes Council and Radio Regulations Board elections in Dubai

Member States of the International Telecommunication Union or ITU on Monday completed elections for its Council and Radio Regulations Board in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
 
ITU officer in Dubai Gary Fowlie, says the elected 48 members of council and its twelve of the radio regulations board.
 
He explains that Council is to determine the direction of the Union and its activities in coming four years starting in January 2019.
 
The ITU Council also ensures oversight of the Union’s activities, policies and strategies, Fowlie explains.
 
He adds that the Council also manages working groups on specific topics set up by Plenipotentiary Conferences.
 
The Council of ITU prepares the draft strategic and financial plans for presentation to the plenipotentiary, the official discloses.
