The Catholic Bishops Conference of Sudan and South Sudan will take part in the Pontifical committee meeting in Rome on November 7, says Apostolic Administrator of Malakal Catholic Diocese.
Monsignor Roko Taban Musa says the meeting is to prepare for the International Eucharistic Congress that will take place in 2020 in Budapest, Hungary.
The Administrator on Monday told CRN that the assembly is to prepare a document that will support Catholic dioceses around the globe.
The 2020 International Eucharistic Congress will be the 52nd in Budapest, Hungary.
The one-week event has been every four years since 1881 to celebrate the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist according to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
This is the second time that Hungary hosts the International Eucharistic Congress; the first one was in 1938.
Cardinal Péter Erdő, Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest sees a great significance for the Catholic Church in Hungary in hosting the event.
