JMEC urges pre-transitional committee to include citizens

The Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission or JMEC is urging the National Pre-Transitional Committee to engage citizens for effective and inclusive implementation of the revitalized peace agreement.
 
Deputy Chairperson Ambassador Augostino Njoroge says formation of the Committee and the convening of its first meeting is an indication of very positive news for the people of South Sudan who are eagerly waiting to see the agreement implemented.
 
He appeals to the Committee to take the responsibility of bringing about the healing and reconciliation process for the people of South Sudan.
 
Ambassador Njoroge points out that the huge responsibility bestowed upon the committee requires the collaboration of regional and international actors.
 
In a press statement CRN saw, he says the team needs to develop an effective and transparent mechanism to bring on board those important partners.
 
The ambassador was speaking during opening session of the inaugural meeting of the committee in Khartoum, Sudan on Sunday.
