IGAD expresses condolences to Sudan on death of Suwar Al-Dahab

The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD expresses deep sadness upon receiving the news of the passing away of Abdel Rahman Suwar al-Dahab, former President of the Sudan.
 
Ambassador Mahboub Maalim conveys IGAD’s condolences to the Sudan for losing one of its leaders.
 
He also expresses his heartfelt sympathy and that of the IGAD to Al-Dahab’s family.
 
The Executive Secretary says Al-Dahab will be remembered both at home and abroad for his well-known contribution to the Sudan and his deep commitment to the ideals of peace and democracy in Africa.
 
He says the late leader was one of the founding fathers of IGAD during the time of its establishment in 1986.
